Dr. Katie Black is the newest surgical resident at pHreedom pHalls General. She brings with her a spunky can-do attitude and optimism that the staff of pHreedom General haven't seen in years. She'll have her work cut out for her being the only other female on the staff (her boss Dr. O'Riley is the other). This is a hospital full of people who could use some of Katie's down home remedy...hugs and smiles.

Dr. Black is played by pHreedom Idol Winner, Carrie Oakridge. Daughter of the estranged Oakridge Boys, Carrie and her twin sister Cori, entered the pHreedom Idol competition last fall, and Carrie won! In addition to her record contract, the producer of pHreedom pHalls just had to have her, what was supposed to be a guest spot turned into a starring role!
